Let us take you back in time to Brooklyn, where it all began. Giovanni's dad, Salvatore, and his cousin Danny, who felt more like a brother than anything else, started out with a small deli, laying the foundation for a family tradition built on food, hard work, and love.
In 1986, Salvatore moved to Staten Island and opened Hot Bagels Plus, until life forced a new path. After a life threatening car accident, he moved to Florida and ran two bagel shops for several years before closing in 1999.
Nearly two decades later, Giovanni picked up where his dad left off. He saw a need for real bagels in Emerald Isle. With only a KitchenAid mixer and his dad's original 100lb flour recipe, he brought Brooklyn bagels back to life. Starting with Stir It Up Coffee Shop and a food bus in Cedar Point, Giovanni hustled with one mission: do it for his family and community.
With the help of the community, he found his first permanent shop in Emerald Isle in 2021. Morehead City followed in 2022, and Swansboro joined the family in 2023.
From Brooklyn roots to North Carolina shores, every bagel carries a piece of our story, and we're so thankful you're part of it.
